ECL urged to complete survey

Future Leaders Committee President Helen Driscoll is encouraging early career lawyers to have their say in the Queensland Law Society Member Survey before it’s too late.

The QLS Member survey closes on Friday, 6 September, and the Society has received about 500 responses.

With early career lawyers making up of a large percentage of the membership, Helen is keen for their voices to be hear.

“Currently, approximately 40 per cent of practice certificate holders are under the age of 35. This is a significantly sized cohort,” she said.

“The Future Leaders Committee is the representative body of this cohort, and we were pleased to assist QLS to develop the membership survey in order to target early career solicitors.

“The Queensland Law Society needs to hear from our cohort in order to be able to make sure our membership needs are being met – and if not, how they can be met.”

The survey will guide the Society’s strategic direction and inform how QLS can support and represent members.

“The FLC is looking forward to the results of the membership survey,” Helen said.

“We look forward to being actively involved in making recommendations to the QLS, as well as implementing any new initiatives that flow from the recommendations.”
