Successful culture moot returns

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Culture & Law Moot, the event designed to foster diversity, inclusion and positive discourse is back at Banco Court tomorrow night, 20 March.

This year’s topic is: The Australian legal system is an effective tool to address the intersectionality of discrimination.

Last year’s initiative was a collaborative effort between the Pasifika Lawyers Association of Queensland, Asian Australian Lawyers Association Queensland Chapter, Queensland African Lawyers Network, and the Magistracy, with the support of Queensland Law Society, Lacuna Professional Solutions, and Tilé and Olly Meets Podcast.

QLS is continuing its support this year.

The moot brings together lawyers from different backgrounds to participate, network and appear before esteemed judges.

The moot will be judged by Chief Justice Helen Bowskill, Judge Nicholas Andreatidis KC and Deputy Chief Magistrate Anthony Gett.

There will be four teams of two and the event has sold out.
