Time to renew PC, membership

From today, practitioners can log in to renew 2025-26 practising certificates and Queensland Law Society (QLS) memberships up until 31 May 2025.

Step-by-step instructions for completing QLS Practising Certificate and Membership Renewal are available in the Renewals Guide for Practitioners.

How do I renew?

  • Visit myQLS
  • Log in with your username and password
  • Go to the Notification/Tasks section of the myQLS home page and find the Renew your QLS practising certificate notification
  • Click Renew now to start your application
  • Alternatively, if you are not renewing in the 2025-26 year, click Not renewing

Subscriptions and payment

Your organisation will complete a payment summary if it intends to pay for any subscriptions on behalf of its practitioners. These subscriptions may include practising certificates, membership fees, other fees and accreditation.

The organisation should advise which, if any, subscription/s it is paying for.

If the organisation is paying for any subscriptions, for example, a practising certificate, then no payment for a practising certificate will be required. These selections have been noted in each employee’s renewal application.

QLS Membership

If you are not yet a QLS member, you can apply to become one as part of the renewal process. As a member you will gain access to exclusive services and benefits, to help build your practice and your profile.

Professional Standards Scheme

If your employer has elected to participate in the scheme, you must be a QLS member and participate in the scheme. You will have no option to be exempt from the professional standards scheme and membership when completing your renewal application.

If you require any assistance, practitioners can contact the Records and Member Services team on 1300 367 757 or email records@qls.com.au.
