Online Services Portal enhanced for wills, estates applications

The Brisbane Supreme Court registry has announced that the following enhancements of the Online Services Portal are now live in relation to practitioner applications for grants of administration:

Lodgements

Recording party types

When registering parties, select a ‘Party type’ of Individual, Company, or Government entity.

Based on the selection, different fields will display for completion, including ‘Trading as’ and ‘ABN’ for companies.

Recording the date of death

When lodging a new application, the deceased person’s date of death is required.

The date of death field(s) is available for all application types; however, they are only mandatory where the date of death is required in a prescribed form.

A single date of death, or a date range, can be entered.

Upload multiple documents

When lodging a new application, multiple copies of the same mandatory document, excluding the originating document and will (copy) and multiple additional documents can now be uploaded.

Error in the address field

The issue of being exited out of the lodgement process when pressing the space bar, while using the address type-ahead feature, has been resolved.

Filing fee information and payment status

When lodging an application, filing fee information now displays on the ‘Start a new wills and estates application’ page and the ‘Application submitted’ page.

The dashboard’s ‘View proceeding’ page now includes a ‘Filing fee status’, which appears once the filing fee has been paid and court records have been updated to confirm receipt of payment.

Filing fee details can also be viewed by selecting the ‘View information regarding filing fees’ link.

Renunciation

When lodging a Renunciation application, the ‘Before you begin’ page now displays key information explaining the purpose of this lodgement category. If the incorrect lodgement category is selected, you can exit the page without any impact.

Renunciation should only be used where no application for a grant is being filed and may incur a filing fee. If submitted with a grant application, it must be filed as an additional document within that application.

Wills and estates public search
