Human rights groups to host documentary about exonerated couple

Three groups opposing the death penalty have joined forces to host a documentary in Brisbane later this month.

The Julian Wagner Memorial Fund, Australians Against Capital Punishment and the Griffith University Innocence Project will present Stolen Lives on Thursday, 25 June, at New Farm Cinemas.

Stolen Lives tells the extraordinary story of Sunny Jacobs and Peter Pringle, the only married couple in the world who were both sentenced to death and later exonerated. After their release, they dedicated their lives to supporting other exonerees.

Proceeds from the event will help raise funds for Australian volunteer lawyers working on capital punishment cases globally.

This is the only currently scheduled Australian screening and will run from 5.30pm to 8pm. Buy tickets here.
