The Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2020 (BIFOLA) received assent on 23 July 2020, with a small number of provisions commencing that day or being given retrospective effect.
The Proclamation No. 1—Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2020 (commencing certain provisions) and Proclamation: Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 were made on 27 August 2020 and proclaim commencement dates for much of the remainder of BIFOLA.
