Queensland Law Society today welcomed the appointment of Christopher John Bowrey as a judge of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia in the Townsville Registry.
Mr Bowrey has been a faithful stalwart of the Townsville legal profession and community for more than 40 years as well as a QLS member and contributor.
QLS President Elizabeth Shearer congratulated Mr Bowrey on his appointment and said he would bring a wealth of family law experience to the role.
“On behalf of the profession, I warmly welcome Mr Bowrey to the bench. His extensive experience in family law makes him the perfect candidate for this position,” Ms Shearer said.
“Mr Bowrey has been a long-standing member of the Society and served a number of terms on our Family Law Committee and has been one of our Senior Counsellors since 2014.”
“This is a truly wonderful announcement for the Townsville community and we wish him all the best in his new role.”
Mr Bowery commences Monday 22 March.
