Stage 3 restrictions extended for SEQ correctional centres

Following the recent detected case of COVID-19 in the community in Brisbane, all correctional centres in South-East Queensland returned to Stage 3 restrictions over the weekend for 72 hours.

Thus has now been extended for a further 72 hours up to Friday 19 March (inclusive). Under the Stage 3 restrictions, the following takes effect:

  • All personal and professional in-person visitations, including by legal representatives, are suspended at the following correctional centres:
    -Arthur Gorrie
    -Borallon
    -Brisbane
    -Brisbane Women’s
    -Wolston
    -Southern Queensland
    -Woodford
    -Helena Jones, Numinbah, and Palen Creek, and
    -Princess Alexandra Hospital Secure Unit
  • Production of prisoners from any correctional centre for appearances in Court where the in-person appearance is required will continue to be facilitated.
  • Prisoners who are transferred for in-person Court appearances may be required to isolate for 14 days upon their return to custody from the Court on the advice of QH personnel. The continued use of video conferencing for appearances where viable is being supported.
