Three new magistrates appointed

Queensland Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman today announced the appointment of three magistrates to take office from 2 August.

Legal Aid barrister Megan Power, who was called to the Bar in March 2002, will sit as a magistrate in Innisfail for two years, while Fisher Dore Principal Shane Elliott, a QLS Accredited Specialist in criminal law, will sit in Brisbane before going to Charleville for two years.

Former Corrs Chambers Westgarth Partner and now barrister Stephanie Gallagher, who has been in practice since 1990, will commence her role at the Brisbane Magistrates Court and will also assume the position of Brisbane Coroner from next month.

Queensland Law Society welcomes these appointments and congratulates each appointee.
