RESCHEDULED: President Shearer to deliver memorial lecture on access to justice

The 2021 Derek Fielding Memorial Lecture, which was to have been held on 18 August, has been rescheduled to 20 October.

Queensland Law Society President Elizabeth Shearer will deliver the lecture on behalf of the Queensland Council for Civil Liberties and will focus on access to justice issues.

The lecture is due to be held at 6pm on 20 October at Law Society House. Bookings are essential for those who wish to attend in person and those who wish to watch the lecture online. By reserving an online ticket, a link to the livestream will be sent to you.

Ms Shearer is Chair of the QLS Access to Justice Pro Bono Committee, a director of Shearer Doyle Law, incorporating Doyle Family Law and Affording Justice, a Director of the Law Council of Australia, and a member of the Law Council of Australia’s Access to Justice Committee.
