Practice note on PEXA credentials

Practitioners are reminded that they may have statutory, contractual and ethical constraints on providing to employees their PEXA access credentials (access credentials).

Permitting an employee to utilise the principal’s or an employed solicitors access credentials may expose the practitioner to personal liabilities and disciplinary consequences. A practitioner must ensure the access credentials are kept confidential to the practitioner themselves.

A breach of the security around the access credentials has financial consequences which may affect the ability of a practitioner to continue to practice. Keep all access credentials confidential and secure.
