Call for comments on LGBTQIA+ experiences with criminal justice system

Queensland Law Society is seeking comments on LGBTQIA+ experiences with the criminal justice system.

There are many issues in the criminal justice system that uniquely affect LGBTQIA+ people. Some of these relate to the court system and others relate to experiences with police and criminal lawyers.

QLS is convening a working group of criminal justice stakeholders to inform further collaboration and advocacy in this space.

To better inform the working group’s discussions, practitioners or members of the public are encouraged to contact QLS detailing their experiences with the criminal justice system as it affects LGBTQIA+ people.

Members and the public are invited to send comments to policy@qls.com.au by Friday 24 June.
