Travis Schultz & Partners has announced five staff promotions, effective 1 July.

Hugh Powell, Trent Johnson and Beth Rolton will join the firm’s partnership.

Hugh Powell
Hugh Powell

Hugh has acted on a variety of personal injuries and compensation law matters, including workers’ compensation, public liability and compulsory third party claims. He also has extensive experience in master and servant claims, including providing advice on entitlement, liability, quantum and evidence. Hugh is also a volunteer solicitor at Suncoast Community Legal Service.

Beth Rolton
Beth Rolton

Beth is a QLS accredited specialist in personal injury law and has extensive experience in compensation law and personal injuries, including workers’ compensation claims, motor vehicle accidents, dependency claims and industrial deafness matters. She is also involved with the local community, including the Far North Medical and Legal Society where she serves as a committee member.

Trent Johnson
Trent Johnson

Trent is a QLS accredited specialist in personal injury law, and a member of the QLS Accident Compensation Tort Law Committee. He is a former registered nurse and has acted for thousands of injured claimants since commencing his legal career 20 years ago. Trent is also an editor for an online legal publication for Queensland personal injuries.

Kelly Phelps has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer and Director.

Kelly has been with the firm since it was founded in 2018 and has more than 15 years’ experience in the legal industry. She has extensive experience in all operational matters including financial, human resourcing, leasing, workplace culture and strategic direction.

Rachel Last has been promoted to Senior Associate.

Rachel Last

After graduating from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor of Laws (first class honours) in 2018, Rachel worked in litigation and gained experience across a range of matters, including contract disputes, leasing, insolvency, consumer law, debt recovery, deceased estates and intellectual property. She also volunteers with the Suncoast Community Legal Service.
