At its meeting on 22 June, the Queensland Law Society Council appointed Councillor Rebecca Fogerty, pictured, as Vice President.

As a result of this appointment, Councillor Fogerty has resigned as the Attorney-General’s appointed member of Council, creating a vacancy for the Attorney-General’s appointed Council member.

QLS President Kara Thomson congratulated her on her appointment as Vice President on behalf of Council.

“Rebecca is well known to Council and has been an active contributor to the Law Society for many years,” she said. “Rebecca brings a wealth of experience to the role and we are looking forward to continuing to work closely with her.”

Rebecca said: “It is a privilege to serve in this new role and I look forward to supporting the President and the Deputy President as we continue to advocate for good law and good lawyers in Queensland.”
