Summer courts closure dates

Court Services Queensland has advised of the 2022-23 Summer court closure arrangements for the Supreme, District, Land and Magistrates courts.

Supreme and District Courts

• The Supreme Court of Queensland and District Court of Queensland registries will close from 4.30pm Friday 23 December 2022 and reopen at 8.30am Monday 9 January 2023.
• A duty judge will be available to hear urgent matters in the weeks commencing 26 December 2022 and 2 January 2023.

Magistrates Courts, including Brisbane Arrest Court

• Magistrates Court registries will be closed from 4.30pm Friday 23 December 2022 and will reopen at 8.30am Monday 9 January 2023, except for Brisbane, Southport, Ipswich, Maroochydore, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns Magistrates Courts which will operate for the purpose of overnight in-custody matters.

Land Court and Reform and Support Services

• The Land Court of Queensland registry, along with the Reform and Support Services, will be closed from 4.30pm Friday 23 December 2022 and will reopen at 8.30am Monday 9 January 2023.
