Chief Justice Bowskill has issued two Practice Directions today in relation to aspects of criminal proceedings in the Supreme Court.
Practice Direction 4 of 2024 – Criminal Jurisdiction: Supreme Court should be read with Practice Direction 5 of 2024 – Criminal List – Brisbane.
The Practice Direction in relation to the Criminal List will start operation on 28 February 2024 although the forms and draft orders electronically provided in the Practice Direction are able to be used immediately.
An information session for legal practitioners in relation to the new procedures for the Criminal List in Brisbane will be held in the Banco Court on Wednesday, 6 March at 5pm.
It will be presented by Justice Peter Callaghan and Bronwyn Currie, Criminal Resolution Registrar. All criminal practitioners are encouraged to attend in person or via live link.
