Cost disclosure changes have begun

Changes to the Legal Profession Act 2007

Changed costs disclosure obligations for law practices resulting in an increase in the full costs disclosure threshold from $1500 to $3000 with abbreviated costs disclosure required for those matters from $1500 to $3000 started on Friday, 1 March 2024.

QLS has prepared a Disclosure Notice and Engagement Precedent for matters less than $3000 which may assist practitioners.

Practitioners can also access our Costs Disclosure Checklists.

QLS members are also welcomed to book a complimentary Practice Advisory Service visit to discuss the changes.
