WLSQ expands DFV services

Ipswich West MP Darren Zanow, WLSQ CEO Nadia Bromley, Whitsunday MP Amanda Camm and DVAC CEO Amie Carrington.

The expansion of domestic and family violence (DFV) services in Ipswich was marked last Wednesday with an office opening and the announcement of a partnership between two key agencies.

Women’s Legal Service Queensland (WLSQ) and the Domestic Violence Action Centre (DVAC) announced their collaboration at the opening of the new WLSQ Ipswich office in Brisbane Street.

DVAC provides specialist domestic family and sexual violence services, including education and training, to the greater Ipswich, Darling Downs and Southern Downs regions.

WLSQ CEO Nadia Bromley said the opening of the office signified an important extension of the organisation’s reach to provide essential legal services to vulnerable people in the region.

“Our partnership with DVAC further strengthens our commitment to supporting victim survivors of domestic and family violence in Ipswich and beyond,” Nadia said.

The launch was attended by representatives of the Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Council, government, schools, service clubs and local businesses, as well as advocates for survivors of DFV.
