Nominate a ‘quiet achiever’

Queensland Law Society CEO Matt Dunn hopes that practitioners who fly under the radar will be nominated for this year’s QLS Excellence in Law Awards.

There is still time to nominate these quiet achievers for the August awards as the nomination deadline has been extended by a week to 10 June.

“We all know a person who is excellent and goes above and beyond in their work but never draws attention to themselves,” Matt said. “The sort of person who doesn’t blow their own trumpet.

“This is the chance to celebrate truly excellent work, especially for those who don’t normally get recognised.

“The new nomination deadline is an opportunity for you to recommend that person so they receive the recognition they deserve but will never seek out.”

There are two new awards for 2024 – Pro Bono Team of the Year and Graduate Lawyer of the Year, while the Workplace Culture & Health Award (Organisation) has been renamed to Employer of Choice for the 2024 Gala.

The Pride in Law Award is also presented at the August gala in Brisbane.

The 2024 award categories are:

Finalists will be announced on Monday, 15 July and the awards will be presented on Saturday, 24 August.

Nominate here until 11.59pm on 10 June.
