Supreme Court of Queensland Justice David Boddice will focus on the principles of quality practice as the keynote speaker at next month’s Queensland Law Society Personal Injuries Law Conference.

The 2024 conference theme is the 3Ps of Personal Injuries Law: Preparation, Principles and Presentation. The full-day program will be held at Law Society House on Friday, 9 August.
Justice Boddice will lead the program at 8.45am with the 3Ps presentation.
In 1984, Justice Boddice was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland and appointed Senior Counsel in 2001. He was appointed a judge of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2010 and currently manages the Supervised Case List and Wills and Estates List.
The Personal Injuries Law Conference offers professional development for both plaintiff and defendant personal injuries solicitors.
Sessions include Why Impairment assessments are commonly misunderstood, chaired by QLS and Law Council of Australia Past President Luke Murphy. David Bowles, Special Counsel, QLS Ethics and Practice Centre, will present Achieving success – ambition and guidance today shapes the lawyers of tomorrow. This session will focus on transition to practice from undergraduate training, providing guidance for both junior practitioners and supervisors of newly admitted lawyers.

Barristers Kevin Holyoak and Bianca Stringer will close the day with The paths less trodden exploring the expansion of vicarious liability, the revival of the pro hac vice principle, and the application of the Australian Consumer Law in personal injury claims.
