The profession will pay tribute to the work of a retiring magistrate on the Gold Coast next week.
The seminar Judging Domestic Violence: Recognising the Work of Magistrate Colin Strofield at Bond University will have a panel of speakers discuss Magistrate Strofield’s efforts to address domestic and family violence over his more than 16 years as a judicial officer.

The panel will include Colette Bots, Practice Director, Family, Domestic Violence and Elder Law Practice, Caxton Community Legal Centre; Amanda Ovens, Family Lawyer, Legal Aid Queensland; and Carolyn Buchan, Principal Solicitor, Country to Coast Lawyers.
Magistrate Strofield will then speak about his time presiding in Brisbane, Charleville, Holland Park and Southport, including in the Specialist Domestic and Family Violence Court.
The Bond University Faculty of Law Twilight Seminar will be held on Tuesday from 5.30pm to 7pm. Registrations have closed.
