All lawyers must be on the frontlines of climate action, a Queensland University of Technology (QUT) research seminar will be told tomorrow.
QUT’s School of Law will offer The Evolution of the Role of the Lawyer in Promoting Environmental Sustainability: Our profession’s role in innovation, regulation and responsibility, as an in-person and online event.
Environmental Law Professor Achinthi Vithanage from Pace University in New York City will speak about the duty of lawyers to promote justice and use their skills to address the climate crisis, and the efforts of bar associations and law societies worldwide.
The Environmental, Social and Governance Research Presentation will begin at 12.30pm on Wednesday, 21 August, in the OJW Room – GP-S1215.
