Compensation claim form 13 updated

The Legal Practitioners’ Fidelity Guarantee Fund updated the Queensland Law Society (QLS) Form 13 – Claim for Compensation on 13 September 2024.

The Fidelity Fund is administered by QLS to reimburse clients who suffer financial loss arising from an act or omission of one or more associates of a law practice that involves dishonesty (a dishonest default).

Notification of a potential claim against the Fund must be given to QLS within six months of a practitioner becoming aware of the financial loss.

When a practitioner notifies QLS of a potential claim, a claim form to complete and submit to QLS.
