Queensland Law Society members are among the 30 finalists for this year’s Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) Community Impact Awards.

The annual awards recognise the state’s most inspirational advocates and community services, and this year will be presented in six categories.

Wotton + Kearney Associate Charo Weldon is in the running for the Human Rights award, while YFS Legal solicitor Candice Hughes and Basic Rights Queensland (BRQ) Practice Director Simon “Sam” Tracy are vying for the Frontline Hero award.

BRQ’s employment rights arm Working Women Queensland and the Ending Violence against Women Queensland management committee are up for the Women’s Equality Advocate award.

The winners will be announced at Brisbane City Hall on Monday, 25 November. Tickets here.
