Lumme Rynderman Legal temporarily closed its office last Monday for a good reason as law clerk Michael Phillips was proudly admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland that day.
The firm closed for the day so all staff could attend the admission and the lunch afterwards at Greca with Michael’s family, including his 90-year-old grandmother who has recently moved from the United Kingdom.
Principal lawyer Ben Rynderman moved Michael’s admission.
Michael has been a clerk with the firm since March 2022, while studying his law degree at University of Sunshine Coast.
Initially, he joined the firm as part of a placement organised through the university.
Chris Lumme said: “It was immediately obvious that he wasn’t afraid of hard work, and we were very keen to ensure he stayed on with our firm. He’s now taken up a solicitor position with our firm.
“The challenge currently is how we could even begin to find a clerk to replace him, but it’s one of those good problems.”
Our Admissions section looks to celebrate all newly admitted solicitors and congratulate them on this significant achievement. Please email details to proctor@qls.com.au. Ensure you include some details of you or your current employee’s role, along with a quality head-and-shoulders image or images from the admission sitting.
