About 100 Sunshine Coast legal professionals took the opportunity to attend the Queensland Law Society Seller Disclosure Roadshow in person at the Maroochy Surf Club on Tuesday.
Seller disclosure reform is set to take effect on 1 August 2025, bringing significant changes for practitioners handling property transactions.
The Seller Disclosure Roadshow is helping lawyers gain insights into the impact of these reforms on their practice, by understanding the new obligations for sellers of Queensland property and working through the prescribed forms and REIQ contract changes.
Regional presenter and QLS Manager, Legal Policy, Wendy Devine said attendance at the roadshow events gave practitioners the opportunity to ask questions in real time.
“The question time at the roadshow has a real domino effect,” Wendy said. “The questions begin rolling which assists everybody in the room as there are common themes arising.”
Wendy said many of the Sunshine Coast practitioners stayed after the presentation to enjoy the networking lunch and continue conversations about the reforms.
“As presenters, we also appreciate the chance to talk to attendees to find out how they are preparing for the upcoming changes.”
Future events will be held in Brisbane + livestream (Friday, 23 May) and Mackay (in-person on Tuesday, 27 May).
Registrations are still open for the Mackay event.
Queensland Law Society President’s Medal winner Professor Sharon Christensen will be part of the Seller Disclosure Roadshow team at tomorrow’s Brisbane event.
These sessions are open to members, non-members, and support staff from across Queensland. A light lunch and refreshments are provided.
Roadshow participation, in-person or livestream, is worth two CPD points.
