Four Queensland lawyers are among the 830 Australians recognised in the King’s Birthday 2025 Honours List.
Griffith University Professor Kate Galloway was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the General Division for significant service to the law, education and the community.
Gold Coast Principal William Ross received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division for his service to veterans and their families, and the community.
Brisbane-based Peter Delibaltas, Senior Executive Director, Legal Practice, Legal Aid Queensland received the Public Service Medal (PSM) for his service in improving legal access for vulnerable and disadvantaged Queenslanders.
Brisbane-based Nigel Miller, the state’s Director of Child Protection Litigation, also received a PSM for outstanding public service in that field.
Nominations for the Australian Honours and Awards are assessed by the Honours and Awards Secretariat, then considered by the Council of the Order of Australia, before recommendations are made to the Governor-General.
