Following the success of the inaugural Seller Disclosure Roadshow, the Queensland Law Society is planning another two regional events in Rockhampton and Gladstone.
The roadshow, which attracted more than 900 attendees to the in-person and livestream event in Brisbane last month, kicked off in April in Townsville. The most recent session in Mackay last week was presented to more than 40 legal practitioners including support staff.

The sessions are designed to help practitioners with all key aspects of the new seller disclosure obligations in the Property Law Act 2023 which come into effect on 1 August.
They have been curated to address both the legal and practical framework of seller disclosure, as well as to address the technical and complex questions that have been brought to the Society’s attention.
More than 1300 lawyers and conveyancing staff have attended across the state so far.
Regional presenter and QLS Legal Policy Manager Wendy Devine said it was exciting to engage with members across the state and discuss law reforms which have a wide-ranging impact.
“We have decided to expand the sessions to include Central Queensland to give more members an opportunity to consider these changes and prepare for the transition,” Wendy said.
“It has been interesting to hear the questions that have been asked in each regional session.
“These reforms will affect the majority of property transactions, but each locality has raised different issues.
“Although we had over 700 people register online for the Brisbane presentation, we have found it so beneficial to talk to practitioners on the ground and hear from them about their practical concerns as we approach 1 August.
“These conversations are informing the content of supporting materials which will be released by QLS in coming weeks.”
Keep an eye on Proctor for new session dates.
