The inaugural Pouring for a Purpose dinner, hosted by the Cairns office of Travis Schultz & Partners, raised $14,000 for the Far North Queensland Youth Assistance Fund (FNQYAF) recently.

More than 70 guests attended last week’s event which served as a FNQYAF fundraiser and also celebrated TSP’s third year serving the community in Cairns and the greater North Queensland region.

TSP Partner and Cairns Leader Beth Rolton said: “The vision for Pouring for a Purpose dinner was to create a meaningful impact in the local community and raise awareness and funds for FNQYAF, I am so grateful for how our community showed up and generously supported this local cause.

“As Travis Schultz & Partners marks its third year in Cairns, we’re proud to continue a 25-year legacy of community engagement established by Travis Schultz. Our growth over the past three years has been driven by two key factors: an exceptional team and the unwavering support of the local community.

“With our Pouring for Purpose event, we wanted to create more than just a celebration – we aimed to spark something meaningful for the people of this region and lay the foundation for a lasting tradition of giving back. We look forward to hosting this dinner again next year.”

FNQYAF was established to provide financial assistance to disadvantaged children and youth in Far North Queensland. The funds will go towards helping young people in the region pursue higher education, sporting achievements and advancing cultural ambitions.

Terry Newman OAM, previous Honorary Solicitor and Secretary and now patron of FNQYAF, spoke to guests about the organisation’s important work and emphasised the importance of investing in youth and the future of the region.

Attendees also heard from Kylie Walmsley, a past recipient of the fund and current TSP Associate, who shared her story.

As the first in her family to attend university, Kylie credited the fund’s support for making her academic journey possible. She has since gone on to become a personal injury lawyer, driven by a commitment to seek justice and advocate for members of her community.
