Legal tech expert joins global firm

Legal innovation specialist Terri Mottershead has joined global law firm Ashurst as Director of its NewLaw division, Ashurst Advance.

With more than three decades of experience in legal transformation, Terri will lead Ashurst’s global Digital Enablement team.

Based in Brisbane, she will focus on elevating digital and data literacy across the firm drawing on her background in legal practice, legal education, talent development, and the integration of emerging technologies.

Her career spans private practice, academia, and consulting, and she is Chair of the Queensland Law Society AI in Legal Practice Consulting Committee. She spoke at the Society’s In-house Lawyers Breakfast in April.

Terri joins Ashurst from the Centre for Legal Innovation at the College of Law Australia, where she was its inaugural Executive Director.

“Leading the digital enablement team is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of legal services and support the firm for the AI era,” she said.
