The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) Brisbane Registry will hold a callover on 30 November 2026.
This callover is an opportunity for family law practitioners to encourage settlement and resolution by listing matters to a range of court-based and private dispute resolution events.
The callover will run for one week, with three judges. Cases have been reviewed for suitability for inclusion in the callover with a focus on older pending cases, and having regard to issues of risk and the outstanding matters in dispute.
It is expected that about 400 matters will be listed, with in-person attendance required unless leave to appear electronically is granted.
Select matters ready to proceed to a judicial settlement conference during the callover week will have that opportunity.
The Court seeks the goodwill of practitioners in the lead-up to this callover so that it can help as many families as possible in reaching an amicable, safe and equitable resolution to their family law proceedings.
For parties who are unable to afford private dispute resolution, the skilled Senior Judicial Registrars and Judicial Registrars of the Courts will be available to conduct Judicial Settlement Conferences and other Court-based Confidential Dispute Resolution events.
From December 2026 to February 2027 these dispute resolution events will be held, and matters which do not resolve will be listed for a further hearing in February 2027.
Similar callovers have been successful interstate.
