Call for submissions: 2026 Symposium

As legal practitioners continue to adapt and navigate an increasingly complex professional environment, shaped by rapid change, the upcoming 2026 Queensland Law Society (QLS) Symposium is offering the chance to explore these interdependent challenges through this year’s theme: Interconnected.

Whether you’re bridging legal and related disciplines, innovating with Generative AI, or working at the intersection of tradition and future to strengthen legal services, QLS is inviting submissions from solicitors, barristers, academics, legal technology experts and thought leaders to help drive the discourse at its annual event.

QLS is encouraging submissions that embrace complexity and move beyond isolated perspectives across multiple interpretations and dimensions of interconnection.

Suggested themes include where practice areas intersect, revealing hidden connections, tradition meets future, regional and remote connection, and technology and human interconnection.

Session overviews are invited for presentations, workshops, panels or other interactive sessions.

Both seasoned presenters and new voices with innovative ideas are being encouraged to contribute.

Those interested in submitting a session overview are being asked to provide a brief biography, as well as a 350-500 word outline of what format would work best for the session and what sub themes their session fits under.

Applications can be made via this link.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 10 October 2025, with notification of acceptance on Friday 31 October 2025.

The Symposium will be held on March 13, 2026, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, with close to 1000 legal practitioners expected to attend.
