The program for the 2026 Selden Society lectures series has been announced by the Supreme Court Library Queensland.
The library on behalf of the Selden Society – Australian Chapter hosts an annual program of free lectures featuring prominent and renowned guest speakers covering a range of topics focused on legal heritage.
- Thursday 16 April: ’Reds under the bed’—75 years since the Communist Party case, presented by The Hon Glenn Martin AM
- Thursday 18 June: The last appeal from Queensland to the Privy Council, presented by Sandy Thompson KC
- Thursday 6 August: Domestic and family violence in historical and contemporary perspective, presented by Dr Andy Kaladelfos
All lectures will be held in the Banco Court, Queen Elizabeth II Courts of Law, 415 George Street, Brisbane, with a livestream option for remote viewing.
Registrations typically open four weeks before each lecture.
