She has been actively involved in the community legal sector since her admission as a solicitor in 2012.

Ms Daley was called to the Bar in 2021, following more than 10 years practice as a senior lawyer at Minter Ellison, working from its Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane offices.

She also worked for three years in Oxford, England and has broad experience acting for government and private sector clients and their insurers, as well as extensive general commercial litigation with a particular interest in professional negligence and insurance-related disputes.

Mr Knox is former Partner at Allens and a commercial advisor with more than 40 years of personal and advisory experience in corporate governance and risk management.

He is both a Graduate and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Deb Frecklington congratulated the three appointees and thanked the outgoing members for their contributions.

“Legal Aid Queensland is a critically important institution that works tirelessly to meet the diverse needs of disadvantaged clients and deliver access to justice,” the Attorney-General said.

“I am delighted the board will now benefit from the diverse talents of Tanya Diessel, Marjorie Daley and Andrew Knox and I thank them for their willingness to help ensure the legal needs of the community continue to be met into the future.

“Each possesses the knowledge, experience and unwavering commitment to the community to succeed in these important positions and that will be invaluable for LAQ’s future direction.

“I thank the outgoing board members for their contributions to LAQ and wish them well in their future endeavours.”
