The Cairns legal and business community raised $24,100 for the Far North Queensland Youth Assistance Fund (FNQYAF) at the annual Pouring for a Purpose wine dinner.
Hosted by Travis Schultz & Partners (TSP) for the second year running, last week’s event celebrated the power of community and connection.
The dinner at Flynn’s Italian brought together more than 100 local business leaders, professionals and community members to support an organisation dedicated to helping young people across Far North Queensland achieve their educational, sporting and cultural aspirations.
TSP Partner and Cairns Leader Beth Rolton said the event was about creating opportunities for local young people while strengthening the community ties that made the region unique.
“Pouring for a Purpose is first and foremost about community,” Ms Rolton said.
“It is about strengthening connections, celebrating the people who make our region such a special place, and raising funds for an organisation doing important work for our young people.”
FNQYAF President John Hayward addressed guests, highlighting the significant impact the fund continued to have on disadvantaged children and young people throughout the region.
Attendees also heard from Caleb Maas, a recipient of support through the fund, who shared his story and the positive difference the assistance has made in helping him pursue his goals.
Wine expert Jane Ferrari guided guests through the tasting experience and shared insights into the Barossa Valley’s celebrated industry.
Ms Rolton said Travis Schultz & Partners was proud to continue building on the success of last year’s inaugural event.
“The response to Pouring for a Purpose has reinforced how generous and community-minded the people of Far North Queensland are,” she said.
“We created this event to bring people together around a cause that genuinely changes lives, and it is incredibly rewarding to see that vision continue to grow.
“We look forward to building on this tradition for many years to come.”
