Strata lawyers group launches essay prize

The Australian College of Strata Lawyers (ACSL) is inviting law students and junior lawyers to enter its inaugural essay competition.

The Gary Bugden Essay Prize will award $1000 to a student, and $2000 to a junior lawyer (up to five years PAE) for the best essay on strata and community title law.

The winners will also receive a year’s ACSL membership, a chance to present at the college’s 2027 annual conference in Perth, and a travel and accommodation allowance to attend.

The essay can be written on any topic in the theory or practice of strata and community title law (Common Interest Subdivisions), up to 3000 words.

The prize honours the memory of strata and community title law pioneer Gary Bugden OAM, who passed away last year.

Entries close 30 October. Enter here.
