QDAC referrals return

The Queensland Drug and Alcohol Court (QDAC) has recommenced listing first referrals as of 13 July 2020.

QDAC advises that there is a strict referral procedure in place to ensure a controlled referral strategy is maintained. Upon a referring magistrate being satisfied that a defendant is eligible for referral to QDAC, listing arrangements will be made with Brisbane Magistrates Court Listings. No new referrals can be accepted by QDAC outside of this process.

The diary has provision for four referrals per week (mention in QDAC at 2pm on Wednesdays) – two defendants in custody and two defendants on bail.
