New members sought for Professional Conduct Committee

The Queensland Law Society Council’s Professional Conduct Committee requires three or four new members to commence in January/February 2021.

The committee reviews the work of the Society’s Trust Account Investigations Unit in line with the Society’s Part 3.3 policy and makes recommendations about what further action should be taken. That policy is available at qls.com.au, along with the committee’s charter.

The committee consists of members of Council and other members of the profession. It meets every four to five weeks with morning meetings of 60 to 90 minutes. The material required to be considered is rarely less than 300 pages.

Interested practitioners should submit an expression of interest and a short CV by 15 October 2020 to Craig Smiley, General Manager Regulation, either by post to GPO Box 1785 Brisbane 4001 or by email to info@qls.com.au.
