Queensland Law Society has welcomed the appointment of Mr Tim Nicholls MP as Shadow Attorney-General and Shadow Minister for Justice and congratulates the former Shadow Attorney-General, Mr David Janetzki MP, on his appointment as Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Treasurer.
Mr Nicholls is an experienced solicitor, local government councillor and member of Parliament, who has been the Chair of the Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee since February 2018. Mr Nicholls was a former Queensland Treasurer and has held a number of Shadow portfolios, but takes on the Shadow Attorney-General role for the first time. Prior to his political career Mr Nicholls was a solicitor at Brisbane law firms Thompson, King, Connolly Solicitors and Hunt & Hunt Lawyers.
Following the recent Queensland State election, former Shadow Attorney-General and experienced solicitor, Mr David Janetzki MP, has taken up the roles of Shadow Treasurer, Shadow Minister for Investment and Trade and Deputy Leader of the Opposition.
