Change to FCC practice direction – Lighthouse Project

Changes have been made to Practice Direction No.3 of 2020 – Lighthouse Project and Evatt List, which was reissued on 14 May 2021.

In particular, paragraphs 10 to 13 require practitioners filing in pilot registries (including the Brisbane Registry) to provide their client’s personal contact details at the point of filing. If there are safety concerns, this information can be provided confidentially at the time of filing, or via the online Personal information form distributed by the court.

In appropriate cases, practitioners are asked to encourage their clients to create an email address to be used solely for risk screening, to reduce the risk of technology facilitated abuse.
