The current Stage 3 restrictions in all Queensland correctional centres have been reduced, as of 1am this morning, 7 July.
These centres have reduced from Stage 3 to Stage 2:
- Arthur Gorrie
- Borallon
- Brisbane
- Brisbane Women’s
- Helena Jones, Numinbah, and Palen Creek
- Maryborough
- Princess Alexandra Hospital Secure Unit
- Southern Queensland
- Townsville
- Wolston
- Woodford.
In Stage 2, professional and legal representative in-person visits can resume with the exception of any person who has visited or travelled through declared hotspots as identified by Queensland Health (QH) in the last 14 days.
Wearing of masks by visitors within centres is mandatory at this time.
Personal visits to prisoners in these centres remain on hold. Non-essential prisoner movements between these centres remain suspended, but prisoners required for in-person court appearances will be produced (unless advised otherwise by QH). Further, prisoners may still be required to isolate for 14 days upon their return to custody from court on advice of QH personnel, a timeframe which may reset upon each subsequent return to a centre from court.
These centres have reduced from Stage 3 to Stage 1:
- Lotus Glen
- Capricornia.
In Stage 1, all personal, professional and legal representative in-person visits can resume with restrictions limited to any person who has visited or travelled through declared hotspots as identified by QH in the last 14 days.
Wearing of masks by any visitor within these centres is not mandatory, but encouraged, including when social distancing is not possible. Prisoners are not required to isolate upon reception to a correctional centre including upon return from any court appearance (unless advised otherwise by QH).
Queensland Corrective Services will continue to review the current status in line with updated QH advice.
