The Land Court of Queensland has released Practice Direction 1 of 2021, which sets out the process for appeals under the Land Valuation Act 2010.
The practice direction and other new documents have been released following consultation with the Land Valuation Act (LVA) reference group. Also included are standard directions for LVA appeals (annexed to the practice direction) and a template for valuers’ joint expert reports.
The template is being trialled and its use is not mandatory, with the court planning to review its effectiveness, in consultation with the LVA reference group, after enough joint expert reports have been generated through its use to facilitate a discussion.
