High Court releases workplace conduct policy

The justices of the High Court have released a ‘Justices’ Policy on Workplace Conduct’.

The document aims to:

  • “define clear standards of appropriate conduct by the Chief Justice and Justices towards all persons who are officers, employees, contractors or service providers of the Court
  • “provide a safe and secure method by which any officer, employee, contractor or service provider can raise a concern or make a complaint about inappropriate conduct by a Justice, and
  • “set out the broad framework within which such concerns or complaints will be addressed.”

It defines various types of inappropriate conduct, including bullying, harassment, discrimination and retaliation, and describes how concerns and complaints should be raised and addressed.
