Voting for QLS Council now open

Voting in the Queensland Law Society (QLS) Council Election has opened today, 29 September, with a record number of candidates running.

There are 27 candidates contesting the positions of Vice-President, Deputy President and Councillors.

Eligible full members should have received an email or correspondence from TrueVote inviting voting in the three polls.

QLS Corporate Secretary Louise Pennisi asked members to ensure they had their say in the 2024-25 Council election and cast their vote.

“I would like to encourage members to preview all candidate profiles before voting,” Louise said.

“Please whitelist Truevote to ensure you do not miss any election emails.

“If you are eligible and are yet to receive an email, please check all inbox folders and enquire with your IT Team for any firewall or spam filters.

“Voters will access the ballot online through a unique link. Just a note the online voting ballot will look a bit different from this 1932 paper ballot!

“The paper ballot and other QLS memorabilia are currently on display at the Supreme Court Library celebrating the Society’s 150-year milestone.

“If you need extra help, voting FAQs are on the website https://www.qls.com.au/Content-Collections/FAQs/Council-election-FAQs.

“All the best to all running candidates.”

Voting closes at 4pm AEST on 9 October.
