South-west Queensland practitioners will be treated to a review of recent case law by a King’s Counsel next month.
Brisbane barrister Gerard Mullins KC will give the annual Toowoomba Case Review, presented by the Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA). He will analyse legislation and decisions handed down by the High Court and state Courts of Appeal over the preceding year.
Gerard is a tort law practitioner who specialises in catastrophic injury, medical negligence, aviation and human rights.
He will discuss important developments in pleading and disclosure which impact on all personal injuries cases.
“Gerry has already presented this case review in Brisbane and in Townsville and we are looking forward to bringing this event to Toowoomba,” ALA Queensland State President Sarah Grace said.
“Gerry’s case review is always an insightful summary of local, practical and procedural issues in Queensland,” Sarah said.
The Toowoomba Case Review will be held on Friday, 9 February, from 3pm to 4.30pm, at the Burke & Wills Hotel, Toowoomba.
Registrations close on February 8. The event, worth 1.5 CPD points, includes networking drinks and canapés.
