The Travis Schultz Winemakers Masterclass has raised $216,300 for SunnyKids after a sold-out lunch held on Friday, marking the 14th year of the Sunshine Coast fundraiser.

Attended by 380 guests, the funds support SunnyKids and its mission to break the cycle of domestic violence and fund their programs for vulnerable children and families.

Over the past 14 years, the event has raised more than $2.5 million, contributing to initiatives such as SunnyKids in Schools and Mentoring Through Sports.

Event founder Travis Schultz OAM said the continued support of the business community had been central to the event’s long-term success.

“This event has always been about bringing the business community together to make a tangible difference, and what’s been most rewarding is seeing that commitment grow year after year,” the Managing Partner of Travis Schultz & Partners said.

“Fourteen years on, the level of support we continue to see speaks volumes about the Sunshine Coast community and its willingness to get behind organisations like SunnyKids that are delivering real outcomes for disadvantaged children and families.”

Demand for SunnyKids’ services continues to grow across the region, with increasing numbers of children and families requiring early intervention and support.

SunnyKids CEO Kathleen Hope said the result highlighted both the strength of community support and the importance of early intervention.

“The funds raised through this event will go directly towards supporting children and families who need it most, particularly through our school-based and mentoring programs,” Ms Hope said.

“Early intervention is critical. Without it, many of these young people fall through the cracks, so the support from the community through events like this allows us to step in early and change the trajectory for children at risk.”

Funds raised will support SunnyKids’ early intervention programs, providing practical support and mentoring to children at risk across the region.

Each May, Queensland marks Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Prevention Month. This annual initiative aims to raise awareness of domestic and family violence, and highlight the support services available.
