The Honourable Anthe Philippides will speak about Greek influence in Brisbane next week for the Hellenic Australian Lawyers (HAL).
The recently retired judge will deliver 4000 years of the Greek language and its cultural impact as the 2026 Queensland Chapter Alexander Christy Freeleagus Oration on Wednesday, 4 November.
Her Honour, who is a Queensland patron of HAL, was a Judge of the Supreme Court from 2000 to 2014, then the Court of Appeal from 2014 to 2021.
The oration, named after a prominent Queensland lawyer of Greek descent, will be held from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, at Clayton Utz, 71 Eagle St, in the CBD. Drinks and canapes will follow.
