Barrister Peter O’Neill has been appointed as a new Industrial Commissioner to the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) this week.
Mr O’Neill has been a barrister since 1994, and has appeared in state courts at all levels, including at the Commission and the Industrial Court.
Minister for Industrial Relations Grace Grace said: “Commissioners of the QIRC must demonstrate a strong set of skills, professional experience and expertise in industrial relations, and Peter exemplifies these qualities.
“His extensive involvement in the justice system and high standing in the community position him well for this role with the QIRC.”
He has experience in sporting judiciary roles including as the Baseball Queensland State Judiciary Chair and the Brisbane Rugby League Judiciary panel member.
