The Legal Forecast Creative’s LawchestraQ will combine its talents with the Crown Law Choir to spread Christmas cheer at its annual finale concert on Friday night.
The repertoire at the Concert Hall in Brisbane will include Christmas carols and arrangements of classical favourites from The Sound of Music and HMS Pinafore.
Choir Musical Director Anne Edwards said the singers – who were are drawn not just from Crown Law, but from various government agencies and private practice – were excited to perform alongside Lawchestra.
“The choir has been singing for nearly 20 years now, drawn together by a love of music and the joy of singing in four parts,” Anne said.
“For many of us, to sing for our colleagues in various public buildings at Christmas makes the season really special.
“To be able to support Lawchestra is the icing on the cake.”
Violinist Hayley Stubbings said playing music regularly in a group allowed members to take a break from the law and re-energise, and she was looking forward to this year’s concert.
“Focusing on the music and working as a team really takes your mind off everything else for a few hours and playing in front of family, friends, colleagues and other music lovers at our concerts is always a thrill,” Hayley said.
“Having the Crown Law Choir there will be a highlight and the Lawchestra has some beautiful music to share, expertly guided by the baton of our supportive and talented conductor, Greta Hunter.”
The Legal Forecast is sponsored by Queensland Law Society, Herbert Smith Freehills, Irish Bentley Lawyers and Gilchrist Connell.
The LawchestraQ Finale Concert will be held on Friday at 7pm at the hall in Bowen Hills. Tickets here.
