Flags being lowered to half-mast today

The funeral service for retired Queensland Supreme Court Judge the Honourable Alan George Demack AO is being held today at 11am in Rockhampton.

As a mark of respect, the Honourable Chief Justice Bowskill has requested that flags be lowered to half-mast today from 11am, at all courthouses with an office of the Supreme Court registry.

At the time of his retirement in 2000, Justice Demack was the longest-serving judge on the Queensland Supreme Court.

He gave 28 years’ service as a judge and was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in the Queens Birthday Honours List that year.
